To get the most out of our campaign we would like to
1- get peoples info (email)
2- redirect the to a page that asks for a donation
3- send them an email thanking them and asking to send a message to their friends

I'm looking for an option to send this Thank-you message to users submitting a form.
I see this option is available in CiviContribute, is there a way to get this done?

hmm, that is exactly the contribution flow, with steps 1 and 2 merged into collecting email and donation info. You can enable contributions with the tell-a-friend feature to send a message

To do this via profiles only will require some custom coding. You can use the redirect feature to send them to a page asking them to tell their friends and use a post process hook on profile to send them a thank you email
