Tracking terms of office
May 17, 2009, 09:16:17 am
Any recommendations for best practices to track terms of office? I am setting up CiviCRM for a non-profit and a local political party where many of the offices (Chairman or Director for example) are for two years. I was thinking of creating a membership type for each office and  set the duration for 2 years. This prevents the problem these groups have now in missing removing some of the old officers when new ones are elected. Any other ideas or comments?

Apologies if this is answered somewhere else. I searched the forum and FAQ, but I may have not been asking the right question in the search.

Relationships should work nicely for this since relationships have a start and end date and hence u can keep history of who the old officers were.
