Hi,

I'm new to CiviCRM, so this might be a silly question...
Is it possible to make a new contact that is also member of some group upon creation? Basically, upon sign up in Drupal...

Thanks,

Peter

So are you wanting a Group that consists of only those people who have also got a Drupal account?

hi Peter,

you might want to try to add "Group(s)" field in profile and expose that profile for drupal account creation.

thanks for your replies...

to give it some context, the site is for a loyalty card which has free membership and paid membership...

i want everybody signing up to the site to be a contact, but have the option to become a paid member from the start... everyone should be able to become a paid member at any point though.

would it make sense in this context to create a profile that has a group(s) field that can be chosen upon registration? the other thing i was confused about was, how can users join the paid up group themselves? would i have to implement something in the civimember api, or am i missing something obvious?

thanks!
Peter
