Import list of email to populate groups
May 26, 2009, 04:53:41 am
Hello,
I have a list of email (a group exportation) to import into our actual database. the problem is:
Some email already correspond to existing contact. i can setup a specific stric dedupe rule to allow update of the matching record but as i am required to select for companies or individual, the email address will not match if importing indivduals and email exist in a company address. in that way, it will create many duplicate contacts during the import.
What procedure would you suggest for this import?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
Alain.

In your specific scenario you will need to write a custom import to find what type of contact matches the email address.
