I inherited a broken site - Failed to Open Stream: no such file or directory
May 26, 2009, 06:29:40 pm
Hello Everyone,

I suspect I will be spending a lot of time out here in the near future.  I haven't had a chance to go through all the docs yet.  I've taken over support for a Drupal / CiviCRM site for non-profit, the guys who developed the site are gone.  WE FEED THE HUNGRY.

Right now the site is non-functional.  I've done a lot of work with Drupal but not with CiviCRM.

On most pages I get something like this:
warning: include_once(CRM/Core/Config.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ccinsorg/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm_old/drupal/civicrm.module on line 249.
warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening 'CRM/Core/Config.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:./modules/civicrm:./modules/civicrm/packages:.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/ccinsorg/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm_old/drupal/civicrm.module on line 249.

I also get:
Oops! - The path for including CiviCRM code files is not set properly. Most likely there is an error in the civicrm_root setting in your CiviCRM settings file (sites/default/civicrm.settings.php).

» civicrm_root is currently set to: ./modules/civicrm.

I don't know where to begin.  I wondered if someone can point me to the right documentation or the right config file to look at.

One thing I noticed is that these messages point go a directory called civicrm_old, and there is another directory called civicrm, so I think I may just need to point something to the correct (new) directory.

You can see the site and errors at http://www.ccins.org/.

Thanks so much...

Tom

I should add that I am using Drupal 5.7 and I THINK CiviCRM 2.1 (how would I know?).

More Info:
- I'm using CiviCRM 2.0
- I found the Help docs on my site, and when I click on teh links to the CiviCRM Admin pages such as http://www.ccins.org/civicrm/admin/tag or anything else that is civicrm/admin, I get a 404.

This site was working at some point-- Our host moved their servers a while back-- it might have broken at that point, not sure...

Tom -
Check out this document on the wiki:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location

.. and this FAQ:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Installation+Troubleshooting+-+Failed+opening+required+CRM+Core+Config+php

If the above don't resolve it for you, searching this forum for the error message(s) you're seeing should give you some tips as to causes and how to fix
