Can't display custom data fields for memberships in profiles
August 03, 2007, 03:49:05 pm
Hello,

I want to be able to create listings of members of our various committees, along with information such as their terms, roles, etc. (data which reside in a custom data group attached to memberships).

The thing to do would seem to be to create a profile for viewing data. However, while, in creating such a profile, one can display custom data fields associated with events (a field that extends to "participants") or contributions, there is no such allowance for memberships (or, for that matter, activities).

Am I missing something? Or, if I'm not, are there any plans to allow custom data fields extending to memberships and activities to be included in profiles in future versions?

And/or is there another way to display the kind of listing that I described above?

Thanks!

Donald Lobo

Yes member/activity data is not exposed via Profile in the 1.x series. We plan on fixing this in a 2.x version with a rethink/simplification of profile.

If the below is important to you, please consider submitting a patch to enhace CiviCRM for your needs

sorry for reactivating this topic. But has the problem with exposing membership custom data to the user profile been fixed in a 2.x or 3 version?

thanks,

Not yet. but a code contribution or sponsorship to solve it would be great and highly appreciated :)

sorry... can't code myself (but maybe never too late to learn) and the group that we use civicrm for doesn't have much money to spend. But I will list some of the bugs that I found in the latest release. Hope I don't get the same answer when I list the bugs.
