Need help in Migrating CIVI CRM across Joomla versions
May 26, 2009, 10:01:12 pm
Hi,

I have Joomla 1.10.15 running civi CRM version 1.9, I wish to migrate the CIVI CRM to Joomla 1.5.10. The rest of the components / content have been migrated, but i am not able to find / grasp the steps to migrate civi CRM to new Joomla.

As i am new to civi CRM, I request help and guidance please. I may please be guided to proper resources and a step by step procedure will be of immense help.

Thanks

Arvind

IMO in this process there is upgrade CiviCRM from lower to higher version is involved.

lets take a look for CiviCRM and joomla versions compatibility :

CiviCRM v2.0 and lower versions  => required joomla version should be lower than joomla 1.5.x (as v2.0 is not officially supported on Joomla 1.5.x)
CiviCRM v2.1 and higher versions => required Joomla 1.5.x

since you have upgraded joomla from 1.10.15 -> 1.5.10
so you need to upgrade civicrm from v1.9 -> v2.1( at least )

but I recommend lets upgrade to latest stable leases ie CiviCRM v2.2.3 ( it is supported on j 1.5.x )
