I can't find any mention in settings or documentation, but that wouldn't be the first time. I talking about looking at a contact and clicking the 'send email' function to send off one email and have it recorded in the activities section. Anyone have an answer?

Will be part of 2.3.0

issue is here: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-3557

One of those obvious things you realize is missing when you start eating your own dog food

(on civicrm.org)

Would be great for you/your org to submit a patch against 2.2 for this and we'll upgrade it to 2.3. We have not yet started work on the issue
