how to use "SQL Import"?
June 02, 2009, 05:52:17 am
I have a 10,000+ upload that keep failing due to size and parts that do go through are sometimes error prone.

I read about "SQL Import" in another one of my posts and read the one page about it but it does not give any instructions on how to use it.

Any ideas?  Thanks.

hi

you might want to take a look for : http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/SQL+Import
Basically sql import is : Write a query to pull data from other data base and insert in to civicrm data base as per user mappings.
( to specify query -> go to contact import -> select Data Source = 'SQL Query' )

Its look like you are using civicrm v2.0.7 and this feature is available from civicrm v2.2 onward
hope you look to upgrade civicrm to latest stable release ( civicrm 2.2.5  :) )

thanks kiran.  I actually moved to 2.2 (just modified profile) and now I see the option for sql import.  Many thanks for your help in pointing this out!
