I've created a profile and one of the fields I'm putting on the form is the tag(s) field. But I only want some of the tags to show up on the form for the user to see when they are filling out the form. I had presumed that is what the whole purpose of tags have parents was about.

But on the new field creation form for the profile, when I select "tag(s)" I don't see any further choice to select a parent id.

Is this a feature request or am I missing something. And if it is a feature request, see any other work arounds besides creating a custom field?

Thanks. I ended up adding a new field... while I'm still a newbie. But its good to know the direction I'll go in as I get more skill and confidence to bend Civi to my will.
