Cannot restrict user access to CiviEvent view only.
June 05, 2009, 04:11:37 pm
I have checked and rechecked the permissions for CiviCRM in Drupal and in CiviCRM, but I either have anon users with full access to events (the only part of CiviCRM I want to make public at this time) with the ability to edit or create new events, or I get an error message saying that the anonymous user is not allowed access to that page. At present I only have two user groups (test server), Administrator, and Anonymous.

Thanks for any help.

Assuming you only want Anonymous users to view event information and register for events - the Drupal permissions you should be assigning are:

View event info
Register for events

You might want to review this section of the online doc:

With those two permissions checked on the Drupal permissions page, I get an "access denied" message when trying to go to the event page (index.php?q=civicrm/event&reset=1).

Other ideas why it's not working as it should?

That page is for folks who manage events, not for anonymous visitors. If you need a listing of events for visitors, enable the Upcoming Events block (if you're using Drupal). Also please update your forum profile w/ info about Civi version, which CMS, php and mysql versions.
