Is there anyway of having multiple answers for a single profile?

Hi,
I am trying to work out how I can have multiple answers to a single CiviCRM profile. I'm not sure of the exact terminology for this problem, so will explain further. My client wants to be able to fill in a lot of data using CiviCRM. Some of this data would need to be added a number of times for each Profile. For example, there would need to be an 'Ex-Employee of', however, unlike the normal 'Employee of' field this would have a number of possible answers, not just one unique answer.

Is there a feature for this within CiviCRM. My idea for showing it would be to have a drop-down box showing all the different 'ex-employers' for the contact. Once the 'ex-employer' was selected it would then populate the remaining boxes with all the data for that particular choice.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to achieve this, as everything else within CiviCRM is perfect for the client's use except for this one feature! Unless this is possible of course!

This is currently not possible with CiviCRM profiles. However it is also requested quite often

if important to you / your client, consider sponsoring this fuctionality. Its a non-trivial project and i suspect between 100-200 hours of work at least. Our consulting contract and rates are on the wiki
