XtraDB?

Anyone seen this:

https://launchpad.net/percona-xtradb

seems to be a "better" replacement for InnoDB. I'd be interested if:

a. has anyone tried it [requires Mysql 5.1]
b. does anyone have any thoughts about whether it might not work for CiviCRM.

It's supposed to be a drop in replacement for InnoDB, binary compatible with the database - i.e. just swap in the new code for an existing install.

Sounds a bit too good to be true, but the folks behind it have a good reputation.
