New to CiviCRM - Payflow Pro & Promotion Codes
June 10, 2009, 07:29:56 am
I have been tasked with seeing it CiviContribute will work for the company I work for, so I have a few questions.

1. Everything I've seen says CiviCRM doesn't support Payflow Pro. Is this still correct?
2. Is there a way to pass a promotion code in the web address of a specific contribution page and be able to pass that information on to a backend system after payment?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

1. yes. However you can hire someone to write that code for you and contribute it back

2. check:

http://civicrm.org/node/562 : Tracking contributions and event registrations for campaigns and appeals

Thanks, I am a little confused about this:

Quote
Create a custom group called "Contribution Tracker" which extends Contribution. Within that group create three custom fields, one each for Campaign, Appeal and Fund. In my test setup i created these as searchable text fields with a length of 64 characters. Lets assume these custom fields have ids of 4, 5 and 6.

Does this mean custom code or just create a group (one that you can add members to)? I am trying to delve deeper in to the structure so forgive me if I am completely off base.

Can you give me a quick example of what that is telling me to do? I understand the IDs and the fields, etc. Just not sure how/where to actually create the custom group.

you might want to read the book: http://en.flossmanuals.net/CiviCRM/ to get a better understanding of CiviCRM

You should also check the online documentation: http://docs.civicrm.org/

That is a custom group and you get to it from the Administer CiviCRM >> Custom Groups
