Borken profile: `This profile is not configured for "Individual" contact type`
June 10, 2009, 09:16:14 am
I'm getting an error 'This profile is not configured for "Individual" contact type' after it's been working for several months. (we added a new field for collecting County information lately)

We were collecting the name of the Organization to which this particular user belongs. This feature used to work fine with the Profile field defined as:

Organization | Organization Name

It would collect the Organization name and add a Relationship to that Organization.

How can I correct it? How do I "Configure it for Individual contact type"?

PS I can drop this field as it's the core functionality of our site, that's how folks joined their organizations.

Did you upgrade CiviCRM recently (please update your forum profile w/ current versions of Civi, your CMS, etc.)?

In general, you can't mix Individual and Organization fields in a profile. The one exception to this is the Current Employer field - which you can include in 'Individual' profiles - and which behaves as you've described (it creates an employee/employer relationship). Check the field listing for your Profile. The record types are shown under each field name in the first column. For your use - they should all be either Individual or Contact.

Yes, I did upgrade recently from 2.1 to 2.2.

and

Yes, I found this solution of Individual/Employer soon after I posted my question.

Thanks for the confirmation!
