Add Contributions to Contacts page

On my contacts page, I have Home, Communications, Demographics etc, but I do not have a contributions button or a contribution tab.  How do I add a Contribution to a user's profile.  I have gone to Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Enable Components and enabled CiviContribute.  I have also gone to Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >>Site Preferences  and enabled "Contributions" checkbox in "Viewing Contacts" section.

This enables CiviContribute component for CiviCRM.

As mentioned in help of field, its  for enabling Contribution tab for Contacts.

Based on your settings, you should be seeing a "Contributions" tab when you view a  contact record.

You can see the expected behavior on the public demo.
Login to:

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org
user = demo, pw = demo

then....
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&cid=103

I'm trying to figure out this exact same issue. I have also taken the same steps to show this elusive "Contributions" tab. Could you attach a screenshot or something so I at least know what I'm looking for?  There's not one on any of my Contact records, nor did I see one on the demo site.

I don't know, but that's not what I see when I go to your linked demo page. Here's what I see:

I see pretty much the same on my site:

And here's my settings:
http://www.roxbox.org/images/prefs.png

I thought it might be the theme I'm using, but I tried several different ones on a demo server I have. I took a look at the online book, but it doesn't say anything about what to do if your still not seeing the tabs after checking the boxes. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

your not seeing 'any' tabs which means this is probably a 'resource url' issue

search forum for 'resource url tabs' and i think you will find instructions - hth

Javascript is not disabled.  On that note I did make a discovery. I opened the page using Firefox and lo and behold there were the tabs! Now to figure out why they aren't showing in IE. If it helps I'm using IE ver 8.
