Validation error when editing configuration fileds
June 11, 2009, 09:10:39 am
Hi, I Updated from 2.2.2 to 2.2.5. Everything appears to have worked fine. When trying to configure the domain information, I receive this error:

"Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
There is a validation error with your HTML input. Your activity is a bit suspicious, hence aborting
Return to home page."

Do I have the settings wrong under 'Update Directory Path' and URL?

Greetings, Henrik

That error comes from the library which we use to prevent malicious scripts etc. being entered into DB fields. Not sure why an upgrade would cause this to get triggered for that form. Are you entering HTML tags in any of the fields?

You can review this forum post for some more background:

Hi again.
June 11, 2009, 11:14:08 am
Followed the link. I did remove the ini file (media/civicrm/upload/Config.IDS.ini ), but still get the message:

Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
There is a validation error with your HTML input. Your activity is a bit suspicious, hence aborting
Return to home page.

I wasn't sure if I should remove the CRM/Core/IDS.php? Have not been able to locate it. Do you have any additional advice?

Thanks Henrik

OK, I am one step closer.

I logged in using IE and it worked just fine. I am embarrassed to say, that it is my internet browser Firefox Mozilla 3.0.10. Yeikes. I am still trouble shooting, but it certainly is not an error with CivicRM. Thanks Lobo for your time. And if you happen to know why the validation error happens in Firefox, please let me know. Once I find the solution, I will post it here.

Error message: "There is a validation error with your HTML input. Your activity is a bit suspicious, hence aborting."

Cheers, Henrik

I experienced this same issue in Firefox.  The preform and postform help boxes were coming up with hidden fields loaded in them already. If I deleted them I had no problem saving the profile.

I have the same error in a slightly different scenario: tracked here
