Upgrade to 2.2.5 impacts on drupal menu blocks
June 11, 2009, 09:10:13 pm
Hi - not sure where to flag this but I suspect some settings were awry in 2.2.5 which means that we are seeing changes to Drupal menu blocks that result in the Full Text Search block being exposed - even though the Custom Search for it isn't included - and other menu blocks are being reset - causing unanticipated changes on clients sites.

I suspect the goal is that these upgrades would not override drupal menu settings - but if they are expected to, then do the upgrades come with a warning? (and if they do come with a warning I will redirect this post to 'us')

Custom Search for Full Text search was added in v2.2.3 and if you have upgraded from 2.2.3 to 2.2.5 you should have it. AFAIK, I don't think we make any changes to drupal menu blocks during upgrade.

ON all the sites inc Demo I have checked the Custom Search is not there - which makes having the Menu Block appear without wanting it a double pain ;-)

Hi Kurund - not sure what you are showing = yes I see that search shows Participant and other info - can you confirm what /who you entered for that search?
Guess chances are I have been testing it on some sites that have had little in way of Participants etc - but still seems odd that a search by name for some in the membership table who is a member returned a null result.

And I still believe the full text menu block has been configured to show rather than be disabled as it should have been so it was an 'opt in ' not an 'opt out' option

You see - if I run the search for Zope then all that gets returned is Activities - even though he is a member - http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&cid=56

Seems to be bug, will fix it with:  http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-4624

By default all CiviCRM blocks are enabled.

Hope that helps..

Hey Kurund - I feel like being persistent  :P

When I first checked on demo the Custom Search was not on the list so I added it  :-\

I have had to do likewise on several sites. Without adding it in Admin when any clients used the FullTextSearch they got a 'error' msg.

So if menu blocks are enabled - and we move them on a site from Left to Right - when we upgrade they all shift - is this unavoidable?
