Drupal sign up through civicrm profiles
June 17, 2009, 08:03:29 am
We use memberships linked in with Drupal's Taxonomy Access Control to provide (and limit) access to content on our site.

Users hate the two part sign up process - register as Drupal user then as a member...

I've been trying to implement a one-stop registration process using contribution forms and a nifty profile. Not seemed to get it right, but felt very close when I suddenly decided to read the manual....

"Drupal account registration (Drupal 5.x only) - Gives anonymous users the option to create a Drupal User Account as part of completing the form. This feature requires the 'Email Verification' option to be checked (Drupal User Settings), AND you must include a Primary Email Address field in the profile."

  • Can you confirm that this really really is only Drupal 5 which civiCRM 2.2.5 is not compatible with?
  • If not what registration settings should be set in Drupal - user free to register, admin only, user with approval?

Hi Myles - That feature is definitely available in the current release (2.2.5) with Drupal 6. Can you paste the URL of the doc page that has that old info (or fix it yourself, since this the doc is a wiki) :-)

I think the constraints are the ones listed in that paragraph - and my recollection is that it doesn't work if registration setting is Admin only.

Great, I'll do some more testing before I start editing the wiki.
