Clean install after failed upgrade but pointing to old database
June 18, 2009, 10:04:45 am
I attempted to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2.5 but it had failures. I've run into this many times in the past with previous upgrades -- usually when I do the following (below), it works but not this time.

What I did was install a clean Drupal, created a new CiviCRM database and new Drupal database. This time, I was able to successfully load CiviCRM 2.2.5.

But since all of my old data is on the old Drupal database, I went into civicrm.settings.php and modified it so it points back to the old DRUPAL database (leaving the civicrm database untouched)-- but upon login, my data isn't there.

Can you clarify this ? Do you mean you don't have access to CiviCRM ? Is your data missing on database ?

No I can access the civiCRM 2.2.5 but its a CLEAN install. When I modified the config file to point back to my old drupal database, my old contact info still does not show up. All of the addresses I had isn't there.
