linking an event to a candidate?
June 25, 2009, 07:41:30 pm
Greetings. Any advice on how to relate an event (fundraiser) to a person (candidate), so that a custom event field could be displayed linking to some basic info on the candidate? If the candidate were a 'contact', could the contact be associated with an event?

Thanks for any ideas!

Any freelancers in this forum in the DC area interested in consulting on this project?

In 2.3 we are introducing the notion of a "contact reference" custom field which can potentially be used for the below use case. I suspect the first version will be limited in its "out-of-the-box" functionality

If you just want a link to a content page for a given candidate - you could simply include that in the event description. Or create a custom field group "used for" = Event, and create a custom link "field" there (it will display in the Event Information page for that event).
