Hi, I am new at civiCRM and I have created a site that works well, but for some reason paypal cannot send connect with the handler URL that civicrm automatically sends.

When I test the IPN tool in sandbox with the Handler URL http://www.myjoomla_root.com it gives me a successful connection message, but when I try the Handler URL that civiCRM is sending to paypal it gives me an error. For some reason it cannot connect. Is there a setting or a file that I need to modify in order to fix this problem?

The handler URL that civicrm is sending to paypal is:
 error with the notification URL: http://myjoomla_root.com/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/extern/ipn.php?reset=1&contactID=1&contributionID=31&module=contribute

I tried the URL and it gives me "internal error" 500
