Hi Wabz

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with following the upgrade docs. Your question doesn't tell us what the problem is, though?

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+Joomla+Sites+to+2.2

Maybe you could rephrase your question, eg

"I'm working from the docs at http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+Joomla+Sites+to+2.2, and when I get to part C step 12, I'm not sure what the instruction 'once you've warmed the cookies, you need to tangelize the frobjob' is asking me to do. Can someone explain the exact steps to do this?"

The documentation is a collaborative effort by the CiviCRM team and community. What you see there is the best explanation that anyone has provided so far. You can help improve it by asking good questions, and by suggesting improvements once the items which aren't clear to you have been explained.

"Oh, if I'd known that 'tangelize' just meant 'sautee', that would have been easy! How about we add a note to that effect?"

Thanks for being part of the community - sorry I can't answer your question yet, but I don't understand what the problem is, and guessing might take you off-track rather than help you out!

I get your point. The problem is that civicrm stores deleted data on it database....for example if i delete 150 contacts they are not totally flushed out of the database and yet i no longer need them so i dont want them to be in the upgrade coz i believe it kind of creates a problem....so is there anyway of flushing the database before upgrading?

I don't know of a database flush mechanism for CiviCRM, no.

What tables are you seeing leftover records in?
