CiviEvent and Drupal Calendar Integration Mystery [SOLVED]
June 28, 2009, 04:11:59 am
I am upgrading a site from Drupal 5 and CiviCRM 2.0.4 to Drupal 6 and the latest CiviCRM (moving target, heh heh). On my local workstation, the CiviEvent calendar integration works beautifully. I see CiviEvents on my calendar View and life is good.

I zipped up the codebase and both DBs and installed them on a production server as a demo and everything appears to work on the site except this feature--the calendar view is now empty. I considered of course the possibility that differences in the environment are causing this, so I made a fresh zip (including a few theme edits) and installed on a dedicated server that we secured to be the production server eventually. I have the same problem, however--the calendar is empty. :(

I updated CIVICRM_UF_BASEURL for the new site and the URL civicrm/event?reset=1 works fine and I see my events. I am struggling to find a reason why the same code should work on one machine and not on two others.

Any ideas how to debug this?

The reason is simple. When migrating servers, one must visit civicrm/admin/setting/uf?reset=1 and edit sites/default/settings.php if the name of the CiviCRM database is not the same as the old server.

If you forget to do this, you will feel a bit sheepish (i.e. embarassed) and put a silly post on the forums. So it's best not to forget. :)
