Bounces no longer going to VERP address?
July 01, 2009, 03:05:59 pm
Hi

We recently upgraded from CiviCRM 2.0 to CiviCRM 2.2. With the upgrade, our CiviMails are no longer getting bounced to the VERP address as before.

Before, we'd see the following in our mail logs (example.com is the recipient domain, example.org is the originating domain):

Code: [Select]
2009-06-23 12:11:06 1MItbN-0008NA-80 <= bounce.1.2086.1099575.2a92a61790809e772f214213a42883a835590155-chris=example.com@example.org H=www.example.org (www3.example.org) [120.138.20.86]:52792 I=[120.138.20.87]:25 P=esmtp
S=38745 T="Example Events Diary 23 June 2009" from <bounce.1.2086.1099575.2a92a61790809e772f214213a42883a835590155-chris=example.com@example.org> for chris@example.com

Now we're seeing:

Code: [Select]
2009-06-30 13:59:54 1MLSdV-0003EO-6K <= catherine@example.org H=www.example.org (pouakai.example.org) [120.666.666.666]:54247 I=[120.666.666.666]:25 P=smtp S=7341 T="[Example] Test Mailing" from <catherine@example.org> for liz@example.com

The relevant entry in civicrm_option_value for this sender email address is:
idopt_group_idlabelvaluenamegroupingfilteris_defweightdescriptionis_opt_gis_resis_actcomp_idvis_id
2393317"Catherine" <catherine@example.org>68"Catherine" <catherine@example.org>NULL007Catherine001NULLNULL

Under admin/mailSettings, we have a single mail account configured (default) for the account civimail@example.org.

CiviMail's inbound processor is functioning as expected - mails sent to that channel are handled, and mails which returned to CiviCRM *after* the upgrade were moved to the Processed ____ folders as expected. The issue seems to be that mail is going out FROM the wrong address.

What settings might we have missed?

Just checked and override_verp is set to 0 for the mails in question.
