Hi - for a new client that is developing an 'alumni' of people who have been on a student exchange programme we are looking at best approach to handling Maiden Name given that many of the older alumni may have married/changed name but that their peers probably know they only by their maiden name.

Two scenarios

1/ Allow other alumni to search the 'alumni group' and enter the 'maiden name' of the person

2/ Have 'Find Contact' include 'maiden name' field in the basic search.

I suspect the easiest route is to rename 'Nick Name' field to be 'Maiden Name' and then use the various hacks discussed

This will be fine if client is okay with losing 'nick name' ;-)

What suggestions if they require this to be an additional field?
