Links Breaking in Outgoing Emails in WYSIWYG Editor for HTML Mail
July 08, 2009, 11:58:14 am
Hi this is a problem that I believe started when we upgraded from 2.2.5 to 2.2.6.  We use CiviMail regularly and just started noticing this problem in the last few days.

In the HTML editor window when composing an email in CiviMail the domain www.domain.com is erased when creating links.  Switching to HTML edit mode (as opposed to WYSIWYG) doesn't fix the problem.  I made a screencast video of this bug in action:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_cW2aYTU0w

As an additional bit of information, I cannot replicate this problem on the Demo site, possibly because it seems the demo site is using a different WYSIWYG editor?  The Demo site has "SOURCE" in the top left and mine doesn't it has an HTML button.

How do I ...

1) Switch WYSIWYG editors for CiviMail to the one the Demo site uses?
2) Disable the WYSIWYG editor for HTML emails completely?

Either one would satisfy me.  Thanks for help!

PS.

I do not have Drupal WYSIWYG module installed nor have I manually changed any WYSIWYG features to my knowledge.

My base URL is set in civicrm.settings.php define( 'CIVICRM_UF_BASEURL'      , 'http://www.nscss.org/' );

My Global Settings > Resource URL is http://www.nscss.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/

The demo site is configured to use FckEditor. You can change your site to that from Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Site Preferences.

However, it would also be helpful if you could verify if this bad behavior is happening on demo site when it's configured to use the other editor (TinyMCE). If you can reproduce, please file an issue.

 I could not reproduce it on the Demo site with TinyMCE editor. I will have to chalk up this bug as a mystery.  Changing our site to FCK editor solved our problem so we'll go with that workaround.

Thanks.
