Contribution profiles
August 11, 2007, 07:13:10 pm
I'm having a hard time setting up a contribution profile--specifically for one to do a simple batch update for Contributions.

I'd like to have the following fields in my batch update--the same ones that are in the simple view used in CiviContirbute:

Amount
Type
Source
Received
Thank-you sent
Status
Premium

I don't see an ability to put premium fields in the profile, and that's fine.  But am I missing where the Contribution Type is.  And what is "Amount label"?  I'm not familiar with that field.  And when I put test data in it, I can't see where it shows up in the contribution record.  And is there a reason why the field is called "Currency" in one place "Paid by" in another and "Payment Instruments" in a third?

I've set up "almost" what you're looking for on the demo:
http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/civicrm/admin/uf/group/field?reset=1&action=browse&gid=11

You should be able to do "Find Contributions" on the demo, then select some records and choose Batch Update via Profile from the "-more actions-" drop-down - and use that Profile.

We don't currently support "Contribution Type" in a Profile (as it is required and always populated when the contribution is created). Are there situations where you would want to change that?

Paid By and Payment Instrument are the same thing (short and long names). Currency is USD (US Dollars), EUR (Euro) etc.
