Noticed in sites/all/modules/civicrm/drupal/modules/civicrm_cck_sync

that civicrm_cck_sync.info.txt has the .txt suffix - should the .txt be removed?

that module is a work in progress. We are distributing it so other developers can potentially use it as a starting point. Its still pretty rudimentary
