Drupal Commitment?

Is Civicrm guaranteed to work with Drupal in the future (with 7.x, 8.x, etc.)?

It looks interesting, but it'd be nice to use Drupal as well. If a fork is likely or possible then it'd help to know sooner.

BTW: Your SMF theme isn't high-contrast friendly since the input box foreground color is styled but the background is unstyled (when Js is disabled). So this message was typed in a text editor then pasted.

I think the commitment from CiviCRM to Drupal is pretty strong. I think you can feel safe on that front.

while it is highly likely it will continue to work for future versions of drupal, there are no guarantees in open source

One way to try to ensure that this remains true is to step up and be an active participating member of the community.
