Fire Newsletter on Subscribe

Howdy.

We were hoping to be able to fire off a newsletter as soon as someone subscribed.

Is this possible or can someone point me to some resources please so I can have a crack at it myself.

I don't have much php experience but maybe this would be a good way to cut some teeth :)

you can potentially do this by implementing a postProcess hook on the civimail subscribe form.

a sample drupal module is here:

not sure of your programming experience, but might be a bit faster if someone who knows drupal shows u the ropes :)
