Email address showing incorrectly in registration form

Anyone able to offer an explanation. One client reported their email address was being truncated when they used event registration ie it should have shown xxxxxx@sportzone.org.nz but instead only showed xxxxxx@sportzone.org.n

I have double checked their email address - and have even changed it to be xxxxxx@sportzonez.org.nz - but it still shows in the Event registration as the original truncated one ie xxxxxx@sportzone.org.n

I have modified my own email address to be virtually identical - ie only the first letter of name is changed - and it shows correctly in Event registration.

Why on earth am i seeing this problem possibly for just this one user?
