Use CiviCRM ACL within Joomla

Is there any time line as to when ACLs in CiviCRM will be available in a Joomla install? Perhaps a plugin could be written for the JFusion Joomla component. ( http://www.jfusion.org/ )

currently no timeline associated with this. but a community contribution to get this up and running would be great. Most of the code should already be present since we use it for standalone.
