Importing Notes
April 29, 2007, 03:15:59 am
How does one import Notes into contacts?  I'm able to successfully Import Contacts in my CSV file for all the normal contact fields (e.g. First Name, Last Name, Postal Code, etc) using Update for Duplicate Contacts when checking "First row contains headers".  When I add a column for Note, the Match fields and Preview pages shows Note for the appropriate Matching CiviCRM Field and shows the values I put in that field, but when I then complete the import, the contacts themselves show that "There are no Notes for this contact" even when the rest of the fields have updated successfully.

Is there a special format or something I need to use to import them?  How can a single CSV column specify a Note when normal notes have both a Subject and a main Note?

I'm using CiviCRM 1.7.beta.9284 with Drupal 5.1.

Thanks,

- Trent

Trent:

We added the Subject field in a recent release of CiviCRM and hence do not support importing the subject field

Can u please reproduce this issue on http://demo.civicrm.org/drupal/ and if so please file an issue at http://issues.civicrm.org/. We will fix this for the v1.8 release

thanx
