Godaddy SMTP

What do I set my SMTP settings to when using godaddy email?

Following the outlook settings godaddy provides doesn't work.

smtp.secureserver.net
port: 80
authuntication: yes
username:  name@domain.com
password: emailpassword

get this error when testing:

Sending test email. FROM: ***@***.org TO: ***@***.com.
Oops. Your SMTP settings are incorrect. No test mail has been sent.
An error occurred when CiviCRM attempted to send an email (via SMTP). If you received this error after submitting on online contribution or event registration - the transaction was completed, but we were unable to send the email receipt.

The mail library returned the following error message:
Failed to connect to smtp.secureserver.net :80 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known (code: -1, response: )]

This is probably related to a problem in your Outbound Email Settings (Administer CiviCRM » Global Settings » Outbound Email), OR the FROM email address specifically configured for your contribution page or event. Possible causes are:

•Your SMTP Username or Password are incorrect.
•Your SMTP Server (machine) name is incorrect.
•You need to use a Port other than the default port 25 in your environment.
•Your SMTP server is just not responding right now (it is down for some reason).
•The FROM Email Address configured for this feature may not be a valid sender based on your email service provider rules.
Check this page for more information.

site is on a virtual dedicated server... can anyone post their settings that are working?

I don't know if this is helpful: http://help.godaddy.com/article/363

Try using port 25 with the smtpout.secureserver.net domain and see if that works?

If your site is on a godaddy virtual dedicated server...

k2smtpout.secureserver.net
25
Authentication?  No
SMTP Username  *blank*
SMTP Password *blank*

make sure that an email address is setup as the default email in civi.   Admin > Config > from email addresses

Ok having a problem...

When I go to Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Outbound Email (SMTP) I can send a test message that comes through perfectly.  I get the "SMTP settings are correct" email and message.

Below is the error message that shows up when someone fills out the form.  The contact is created correctly...

The mail library returned the following error message:
Failed to send data [SMTP: Invalid response code received from SMTP (outbound mail) server while attempting to send email. This is often caused by a misconfiguration in the CiviCRM Outbound Email settings. Please verify the settings at Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Outbound Email (SMTP). Any Ideas whats wrong?

I'm having a similar problem in a different (dedicated) hosting environment.

I get perfect test sends from the SMTP configuration set up, but get no send at all (and no error message) when trying to test or send through the Civimail interface.

I have a linux hosting account on godaddy I just got it set up by doing the following:

smtpserver: relay-hosting.secureserver.net
port: 25

authentication not required.

Works a treat for me.

According to Go Daddy tech support, patch0's info is the way to go.  I was experiencing delays using sendmail.  I am now trying the above to see if the embargoing stops..

Now I need to figure out what to do re: eliminating Drupal's use of sendmail.  I found two modules to choose from:
http://drupal.org/project/smtp

http://drupal.org/project/phpmailer
