Hi Dave & Lobo and thanks for your posts.

Lobo - this is something I will pick up with Claudian to assess.

Dave - yep, I had seen the posts about this new approach in 2.3, but I think it is based on the assumption that we would only write to couples together. In practice, we sometimes write to people as couples and sometimes as individuals, depending on the context (yeah, we do make life difficult for ourselves, I know). So the solution breaks down because if we mail specifically to the spouse who has their settings as 'do not mail', then they won't get anything (if I have read the solution correctly).

I'd love to know if others have a similar issue with the 2.3 solution, and am open to sponsoring an alternative solution if people have good ideas. In the meantime will see what Claudian says about inclusion of that 'Merge labels for contacts with the same address' piece of code.

Thanks for posting that. This is exactly the direction we want to go. As Drupal users we will need to get someone to look at turning your Joomla solution into a Drupal one, but I am sure there is not too much involved. Once we have done that will post back with what we have done.
