profile error- no fields configured for selector

I'm trying to create a public listing of civicrm contacts which does not require any authentication to view. I've successfully created several listings based on different groups, but for one of them-- which looks to me like it's configured exactly the same as the others except for the group used-- I get this error when I try to go to the profile listing (civicrm/profile?reset=1&gid=24&force=1) from an anonymous user:

No fields in this Profile have been configured to display as columns in the listings (selector) table. Ask the site administrator to check the Profile setup.

-The profile has 4 fields designated to be in the selector.
-All fields have Public User Pages and Listings visibility
-The listings are limited to a group, which also has Public User Pages and Listings visibility.

Admin users see the profile listings just fine.

Are the 4 fields custom fields by any chance? If so, can u ensure that you also have given anonymous uses permission to "access all custom data". If not, can u recreate this on demo

Indeed, they were custom fields and the other listings did not have any custom fields in the selector.
