A little preliminary information:  I've set up CiviCRM with Joomla here:  -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-.  It's version 2.2.7 on Joomla 1.5, running on Red Hat Linux.  I've never used this before, and the documentation is huge.  I'm afraid I don't always know what to look for.  Pointers would be appreciated; the more detailed, the better.

Now, the questions... Currently, the registration pages only ask for an email address.  Once that's provided, confirmations are sent and the attendee is in.  How do I:

1)  Get the registration page to also ask for, say, first and last name and telephone number?
2)  Get the process to require the attendee to somehow confirm the validity of the email address, such as by clicking an embedded confirmation link?
