Doing Search on Manage Events takes me to home screen
July 20, 2009, 07:09:22 am
So I have had little bugs since I moved my installation and this is one I kinda need. I am trying to copy and existing event and when I go to manage events it shows the current ones (not the one I am needing). So when I choose the search button to pull up the one I want to copy it tries to go somewhere and then clicks again to the home screen. Has anyone had this problem or can offer a troubleshooting tip?

Thanks in advance
Thom

Thom - Do other search forms work properly on your site (Find Contacts for instance)? If not, there may be some issues in your settings / configuration. ("have had little bugs" - also might indicate this).

Have you gone through all the steps and trouble-shooting tips here?

There must be a small problem there as well... Here is what I get when I go to the Find Contacts from the menu
Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
DB Error: no such field

Database Error Code: Unknown column 'is_hidden' in 'where clause', 1054

Return to home page.

Ok,
Fixed the error by adding a field is_hidden to the db. When I click search on the Find Contact search it does kick me to the homepage.

Thanks

Ok bigger problem. I gave up currently on copying the event and tried to create a new one. Here is the link before I actually save the event.

http://autismalliancekc.org/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/event/manage&action=add&reset=1

Then it takes me to the home page... AHHHHHHH got to have the event up and running for them.

FYI I went through the repair again per the link you posted.

Thanks
Thom

Not sure what's going on. Seems like someone might have upgraded the site (codebase) without running the upgrade script:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+Joomla+Sites+to+2.2#UpgradeJoomlaSitesto2.2-4.RuntheDatabaseUpgradescript

(which would explain why a column is missing in the database). ???

You could try using the Database Troubleshooting tools to verify database schema version and fix.
You might also check your webserver logs to see if there's any useful error messages there.
