Group and Tags Hierarchy?

I read somewhere that there is a case study in hierarchical tags (i.e. Groups, Subgroups; Tags, Subtags) but haven't been able to locate it...  does anyone know where i can find info on it?  Thx!

There's a blog post on the feature here: http://civicrm.org/node/483

Both hierarchical (or "nested") groups and tags are available in the current stable release (2.2.7) - and you can try them out on the public demo if you don't have your own site installed yet.

I tried creating a Group in a "Parent" Group but can't figure out how this helps me?...  I went into CiviMailings and the sub-group isn't categorize it any differently than another group that was created...  where and how does the hierarchy come into play?.... 

btw, I'm so not a techie person, I'm the membership coordinator for a NFP that is trying to get my arms around CiviCRM for our launch....  thanks for any help!
