"Edit own CiviEvent" for Authenticated Users

hi!

What is the best approach to restrict authenticated user so that they can only edit their own civicrm events and create new events, but can't edit or delete other people's events?

There is currently no built-in support for this type of access control on event editing. However, the upcoming release adds a "created_id" column to the civicrm_event table - which is a step towards the functionality you need. If you're interested in contributing code to take this further - probably best to review the current user interface to determine the areas that will need to be modified in the UI, and then start a new thread on the Developer Discussion board with your draft specification.
