users volunteer for many different time slots - non-profit event
July 21, 2009, 08:55:39 pm
Hello.
I'm helping to set up a website to help volunteers (around 5,000) sign up to help with AA's 75th anniversary in July of 2010.
The way it is being set up is that there are 15 different committees one can help with.  Each of those committees has needs broken up into 2 hour time slots.  Volunteers can sign up for individual time slots with different committees.  There are different Max participants required for each time slot for each committee.
I'm using Drupal.
It seems as though CivicCRM Events can handle this.

Does it sound like that may be the way to go?  The project seems a little overwhelming at this time.

Here is a copy of what the time slots might look like: http://aa75.org/test-schedule

Thanks,
Daniel

i dont think CiviEvent will meet your needs very nicely out of the box. There is no support for time slots with max participants for each slot etc. Creating an event for each time slot might be overkill for your needs

there are some community efforts (check http://civicrm.org/blog/) to add more features to CiviEvent
