Welcome Series for New Subscribers

Is there a way to set up a series of welcome messages (e-mail #1: welcome; e-mail #2 contribute, ; E-mail #3: Brief survey) for new subscribers? I'd love to have this automated and give about four days between each message.

no. but a module like that would make a great community contribution to CiviCRM. I think this is referred to as drip campaigns in commercial CRM's
