Make individual look like a organisation?
July 23, 2009, 06:41:16 pm
Hi,

As it seems that only ccrm individual data can be viewed in drupal views (unless I have this wrong), is there a way to change the ccrm individual default field title of 'First Name' to say 'Business Name' in ccrm when you look at the ccrm user profile, get rid of the 'Middle Name' and change the 'Last Name' to say, 'Organisation Contact'?

Then is there a way to take out the 'current employer', 'Prefix', 'Suffix', 'Greeting', 'Nickname', and 'Source' options from display, default 'Primary Location' to 'Work', take away the 'shared household' option from display, and take away 'demographics' from display.

This would, if not a little addhock, produce an Organisation!!!

I figure this must be able to be done in some file or table... so please please in anyone knows!!! i'll keep looking in the meantime.

all the best
Cameron

I am gathering by the not so quick response that this is not really something folk have done...?! What is the possibility of extending the link between CCRM and Drupal to allow CCRM Organisations to be registered??? Obviously being the preferred option..... In the site in question I am not so much concerned about an individual registering as they are ALWAYS tied to an organisation... It is the Organisation that is on show in the profile and listing.

Any help greatly appreciated!!

thanks
Cameron

We used to support Organization's "registering" and adding info in a Profile from User Registration. However, in reality it IS a person related to the organization that is interacting with your site.  Some folks use this feature: "make a contribution / or get a membership on behalf of an organization" - which creates the individual contact (optionally with a user account) AND a related organization.

If the main issue is views support for directory listings - perhaps that's an area you can look at beefing up. Most views support has been community contributed.

Thanks for your response Dave, i'll have a look at the "make a contribution / or get a membership on behalf of an organization" to see if it suffices. As i'm new reasonably new to ccrm and don't really know how to code things up i'm not sure what contribution i could make to the development of views support...does not mean i won't give it a go!!!

cheers

IN case it relates to above, but also cos I want to post this somewhere

So we have a View that provides Search function for Employees and Companies, Views that display the results as a list, and if you click on Company it shows the Company and also lists the Contacts who are Employees of.

Blocks for both Contacts and Companies are inserted on separate page to provide Search functions (using 'name contains')

Recipe was

View type CiviCRM Contacts

Contacts
- Argument = CiviCRM Contacts: Contact ID
- Filters = CiviCRM Member status (X, Y, Z), CiviCRM Contacts: Contact Type = Individual, CiviCRM Contacts: Display Name (exposed - shows in Block)

Company
- Argument = CiviCRM Contacts: Contact ID
- Filters = CiviCRM Member status (X, Y, Z), CiviCRM Contacts: Contact Type = Organization, CiviCRM Contacts: Display Name (exposed - shows in Block)

Company Contacts (as an attached view to the above so it appeared on same Page Display but underneath)
- Relationship = CiviCRM Relationships: Contact ID B
- Argument = CiviCRM Contacts: Contact ID
- Filters = CiviCRM Member status (X, Y, Z), CiviCRM Contacts: Contact Type = Individual,
