custom data fields
August 15, 2007, 04:29:37 am
hi, i'm new in here and i'm trying to develop a search engine like thing for a non-profit company, the company will import the contacts, make search amongst them. Now the point i got stuck is that, how to make those data fields active or in other words connect the data fields to each other. For example, I create a data field asking if the individual to be entered is a personnel or a student. There will be a single checkbox writing "Is this a personnel?", if this checkbox is checked it means he/she is else not, so what I want is that after this checkbox is clicked, a new data field to be opened for the personnel. How can I do it? Please help me if u can, I searched many places but could not find any answer...

No, this is not possible. You might have to do some custom coding for your case.

Custom Data is been used in many places(contact forms, profiles etc). So which form/page you want to modify? If possible avoid modification.

If you want to go ahead catch me on #civicrm IRC.
