Problems after database transfer and upgrade
July 27, 2009, 12:31:25 am
Hi,
I don't know if this is because I transferred database from my local MySQL to the server, or because of a different version used in the production environment. My local CiviCRM is 2.2.3 and production version is 2.2.7. I took the database from my local and replaced it with the new production environment.

Then I followed all the upgrade instructions as per stipulated in the website, including resetting of menu and user sessions.

Everything looks fine except:
1. The tabs in the Individuals/Organization are missing, i.e. tabs = Relationships, Activities, Notes, Tags etc.
2. In the Advance Search, the additional criterias (e.g. Address Fields, Custom Fields, Activities, Relationships, Demographics) are missing

Apart from that, thus far everything else is working fine. Can somebody kindly advice on how I can retrieve those features back?

Many thanks in advance.

sgchan :

You might want to check settings on your Administer CiviCRM → Global Settings →  Site Preferences, for Viewing Contacts and Contact Search.

Thank you for the suggestion. The modules are enabled and ALL the Contact Search options are also checked.

Funny thing though, if I maintain my local CiviCRM session and change the URL to the production session, then these missing features appear. That is if I were to log into my local CiviCRM first then change the URL to the production CiviCRM, then the features appear.

Any other clues? Please help.  ???

This sounds like a Global Settings >> Resource URL problem (the Javascript / Ajax features aren't working).  Check those values, and check this document:

I found the problem and it has nothing to do with CiviCRM... well, not entirely. The tabs go missing because of IE8. If you run IE8 on Compatibility Mode with CiviCRM, then the tabs will show.  :o

Nonetheless, thank you so much for your advice. I learned a few new things about Civi from this experience.  ;)
