Joomla/ CiviCRM - Can not set payment processor

I have tried this on two sites, both on Joomla 1.5.x - One is CiviCRM 2.2.5 the other is 2.2.7.

Whenever I select anything other than 'Paypal -Website Payments Pro it 'kicks' me back to the previous screen.  http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,8566.0.html mentions the same issue but doesn't contain a resolution. 

Hosting: hostgator reseller account
Clean installs in both cases.

Need to get this working quickly, any help would be greatly appreciated.
