CiviMail Processor Not Receiving Bounces

I set a CiviCRM contact to have email: dog@galleryrobinson.com  I tested sending to this address in gmail and I received a message that it was rejected by the recipient. I then put that one contact into a group and sent a CiviMail mailing to him. First I sent a test to myself and I see that the email is From:

civimailuser@xxx.org

Then I sent the CiviMail out to that bad address. Now I run my civimailprocessor cron job and I see:

Code: [Select]
connecting to mail.xxx.org and authenticating as civimailuser@xxx.org
got to the end of the mailbox

I gave it 15 minutes, but no emails came in. I was expecting to get a soft bounce into that box, like I did when I sent from gmail. Never came, however.

Am I doing something wrong with this process?

Is the civimailuser@xxx.org email account setup as a catchall account?
It needs to be a catchall in order to get the bounce. Then the processor looks for relevant emails in that box and processes them.

So before testing the cronjob processor, I'd run tests to see if your dummy email lands in that inbox.

FYI, if you use addresses of the form civimailuser+b.123.456.abcdef0123456789@xxx.org then the account doesn't need to be a catch-all. (See the CiviCRM documentation for details.)

When 2.2 was released a new feature was added to Administer CiviCRM > CiviMail called "Mail Accounts". I know it was documented because I found it very helpful in understanding this new feature.

However I can't find the page.

Sorry for the false lead ... perhaps search the forums for "Mail Account" or "LocalPart"? I found some posts but none seemed to clearly set it out.
