I have tried importing 11,000 contacts from an upload and SQL from another table. The sql import did not throw errors so I stayed with that method. However, it created duplicates in an interesting way.

It did not create duplicate contacts, it created duplicate field entries. One imported field is called "friend of". About 300 contacts actually have this field with something in it. When I imported the 11,000 conacts, 10,000 were imported - fine. However, 600 contacts had something in the "friend of" field.

How? Why? What to do?

I think 600 contacts were created, since you imported relationships ?

It says at the top of the contact search when you search for all that there are 11,000 - exactly thre amount I imported.

Is it possible to replicate this behavior with small set of data / sql file ? If possible then can should file an issue and we can check / fix.
Bit difficult for me to replicate locally.
