Any way to import DIRECTLY into CIVI database without using CIVI import?
July 28, 2009, 10:43:48 am
I have researched this elsewhere but have run out of options.  I have many custom fields.

Without using the CIVICRM import system processing, is there a way to import directly into the database?

Many thanks!

May be you should check bin/migrate/ scripts, that allows you to import / export custom data and profiles.

Are saying it's supposed to work this way?

I think script will allow you to export custom data from one civicrm install and import it in another ..

Thanks Kurund.  Actually I am looking for an import only.  I'm not exporting from Civi and importing to Civi.  I am importing from a spreadsheet or db table into Civi.

Thanks.

You can import directly to the civi database.  What is your source data look like (another software package, spreadsheets, contacts, donations, etc.) .  We may have a set of SQL scripts which can help you do this.

The data is in spreadsheet with custom fields as well.  I've since converted to a MySQL database table.  I have a data mapping saved in the system.

Thanks.  I look forward to hearing more about scripts to go directly into the Civi database.
